In reflection, when I think a company I’ve tried and reviewed can’t be topped, I’m usually always proven wrong (which is great!). There are SO many wonderful companies out there and it really is such a constant discovery and honor to debut them on CandleFind. Aroma Soy by Grazia is our latest find and yet another truly amazing company I have the pleasure of introducing to you in my latest review.
Aroma Soy by Grazia sells all natural soy candles in apothecary jars (3 sizes), tins (2 sizes), votives and tarts in over 135 scents and counting. I absolutely love the look and design of this website. It’s artsy, stylish and very uniquely designed. I was actually a little confused at first on how to navigate through this site but once I figured it out, I was like, “Whoa... this is SO COOL!!” Let me explain why I found this site so cool… when you click on the link, “Gallerie Aromatique”, toward the top of the home page, it takes you to another page that has a large picture of people walking through an art gallery. Below the picture are more links to the various candle lines Grazia sells. As you click on the links, the large picture above the links moves to a different picture within the art gallery. The picture inside the gallery is an actual link taking you to that specific candle line. Once you click on the link, a hand appears holding a piece of paper and on the paper are more links to those specific candles.
I know that sounds super confusing but once you get on this site and go through the motions, you’ll be just as amazed as I was. It’s such a different approach to presentation and very clever in my opinion. After browsing this site, I was “lured in” like a fish on a reel and couldn’t wait to try these candles. Browsing their scent selection was just as fun because along with popular scents, I found many one of a kind and unusual ones too. I definitely jumped out of the box this time and chose two unusual scents and one “no brainer”. My choices were, Saguaro Cactus, Serengeti Sunset, & Lemon Butter Snow Bars.
What Do My Candles from Aroma Soy by Grazia Look Like?
These candles are really beautiful. The candles themselves are 16oz apothecary jars with a silver domed metal lid so the style itself is very simple. There is a clear label on the face of the candle with the company logo which is a contemporary style picture of a woman’s face (very hard to describe, see picture). The company name and scent are on the label too. I loved the label for some reason. It was so artsy and made me think of a picture in a gallery which is exactly what I’m sure Grazia was trying to capture.
Another feature I liked about my candles was that all of them had a splash of opalescent glitter on the top of each candle. As my candles were burning, the glitter sparkled and the affect was pretty cool. I could see the glitter all the way through the life of my candles. It’s amazing how something so simple can have such a dramatic affect. All my candles were double wicked and all natural white in color.
How Did My Candles from Aroma Soy by Grazia Smell?
Saguaro Cactus:
I chose this scent for two reasons. #1, I’m from Arizona and we’re loaded with Saguaro’s and #2, that sounded like such a cool and different scent. How many candle companies do you know that sell a Saguaro Cactus scent? None that I know of. Here is the scent description for this fragrance:
“An absolute WINNER! Deep, Green, Sweet, & Succulent are just a few words to describe this fragrance. Earthy tones, are followed by sweet green notes. A pure desert delight.”
When I first smelled this candle, green notes were the first to hit my nose. I’m not a green scented kind of gal so I was a little “iffy” on this candle just from the initial sniff test. Not one to pass judgment so quickly though, I lit this sucker right away in my bedroom and went to work in my home office for a few hours. I came back to a subtle yet strong smell of definite green but I almost want to say a sweet floral scent too. I was actually liking this scent. Here’s something funny too… I had my husband smell it before I lit it and he thought it stunk. LOL. Later on though when I mentioned the candle burning in our bedroom and asked him what he thought again… he actually said he liked it and that it smells way better burning than he gave it credit for. Hmmmm… interesting…
I’ve had this candle burning for close to 4 days now and it’s a very different and unique scent. Every time I walk into the room it’s burning in, I feel like I’m walking into a green-house or a huge field of plants and flowers. Does it smell authentic? I have no idea. I’ve never put my nose up to a saguaro cactus before so I really can’t say if this scent smells like one. Maybe a cactus flower?... I don’t know and quite frankly, it doesn’t matter. This scent smells like fresh green plants with maybe some flowers in the mix.
The scent throw on this candle is strong but not overpowering at all. Some green or floral scents have a tendency to gag me or make my eyes water. Not this one though. It was definitely strong but more on the subtle/soft side if that makes sense.
If you like unusual scents, this one is very different and unique. I liked it and do recommend it if you like green/floral type scents.
