Blue Diamond Candle

This is my first experience with Blue Diamond Candles. I do see they have some great reviews on our board and was looking forward to giving this line a try. Judy the owner of Blue Diamond sent me candles awhile ago to review but I was so busy, I’m only just now getting around to actually reviewing this company. Story of my life it seems...busy-busy-busy. :-)

Because it’s been awhile since I received my candles to review, I decided to reacquaint myself with their website and products and wow, they totally redesigned the look and their entire product line since I last visited. This company offers a wide range of elegant style jars to pillars, tins, votives, tealights, melts and other bath & body products in over 95 fragrances. That’s quite the selection.

Judy the owner of Blue Diamond sent me three candles to review, two of them I sent to Dawn (our melt Queen) to review and I kept Cucumber Melon Salad to try since it’s such a summery scent. I could never resist a good melon fragrance and I read this is one of their best sellers.

My candle was a classic apothecary jar with a flat glass lid. The candle was double wicked and the wax color was sage green. There was a clear label on the face of the candle with the Blue Diamond logo. Now that I look at their site, this style jar isn’t available anymore but the scent is.

How Did My Cucumber Melon Salad Candle Smell?

I love Cucumber Melon and when I first sniffed this candle, it smelled pretty good. It was different though, not as sweet as the classic scent I’m used to. This one had more “cucumber” in it...at least I thought anyway. Normally, I like more of the classic Bath & Body Works one that has more of that sweet crisp melon but this one was nice and VERY strong! Here is the scent description from Blue Diamond's website:

“Succulent melon mixes with crisp green cucumbers, refreshing!”

This is definitely a refreshing scent and so nice for summer. I can definitely make out the green cucumbers but it didn’t bother me at all. The scent was still sweet and man is this scent strong.

I lit the candle in my bedroom and not even 10 minutes later, I started to smell the scent loud and clear. The longer it burned, the stronger it got till my whole bedroom and bathroom was engulfed with the yummy fragrance of Cucumber Melon.

I very much liked this scent and would recommend it to anyone.

My candle burned evenly & completely to the bottom with no waste. I just had to keep my wicks trimmed or I did get some black on the glass.

Overall Opinion of My Candle and Blue Diamond:

I was pretty satisfied with my candle and its performance so it’ll be interesting to see what Dawn thinks of the two candles I sent her to try. Guess we’ll all find out soon enough. :-)

I went back to their website to take a better look at their stuff again and think they have a nice selection to offer. Their website has a nice look and it’s easy to navigate so that’s always a plus.

Being that I’m loving melts so much now, I went to check out their “gem melts” which are clamshell packs. Whoa!! I had to do a double take...$5.99 for a clamshell pack!! That’s pretty steep for me and a major deterrent. Not sure why they’re priced so high but they must have their reasons. Unfortunately, that’s far more than I’m willing to spend. Their candles on the other hand seemed to be more reasonably priced so maybe I’ll go that route. Who knows?
