Texas Charm Candles

Texas Charm Bath & Candle Co. is one of the hippest and modern looking sites I’ve ever been on. This site received a complete makeover recently and I’m really impressed with the design and layout. All their pages and products are presented in a very creative way and it’s just a lot of fun browsing this site. This is actually my second review of this company... I tried their Paradise scent last year... It was a citrus blend that was very bright and summery and is still available to purchase for you citrus fan out there.  You can read my review of their Paradise scent by clicking here.

Texas Charm offers one 4oz tin size or three different glass jar sizes as well as clamshell tarts in over 120 fragrances.  I ordered a dozen different jars as well as some clam shell tarts so I could try a wide range of their scents this time and so far so good.  I’ve melted half my tarts and have gone through 4 of my candles and nary a one has been bad... it’s safe to say I’m in candle heaven.

As far as scents I ordered, I stuck to my fruit fetish in jars and left my safe zone with tarts.  I bought all kinds of scents from their designer section that are perfumy as well as several bakery scents and so far... I’ve liked every one I’ve tried.  I’m loving tarts and it’s definitely easier ordering scents I normally wouldn’t when the investment isn’t that high.  Tarts are cheap and if I don’t like one... I chuck it... no big deal. 

I’ve been in a bakery/cake mood and decided to review two of Texas Charms bakery scents in tarts this time.  I know I usually review candles but I plan on reviewing more tarts in the future as well for all you melt lovers out there.  Sock It To Me Cake & Banana Spice Cake were on my hit list this time around from Texas Charm.  Two scents sure to warm up your house and make your family crave the real thing.

Clamshell tarts are the latest “melt” fad on the market right now.  They come in a plastic package that holds six cubes totaling roughly 3oz total.  (See picture. )  You can use anywhere from 1 cube up to 3 for each melt.  I personally use 2 cubes which lasts all day for me.

Sock it to me Cake:

This is one delicious bakery scent.  It is so incredibly rich and warm, just as if you were baking a delicious cake in the oven. Before I go into my thoughts on this fragrance, here is the scent description from Texas Charms website:

“Each time Mom bakes this cake; it hardly has time to cool before we eat it up!  This is a delicious yellow cake with notes of brown sugar, chopped walnuts, cinnamon spice and a hint of vanilla pudding.”

Six words accurately describes this scent... “yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-YUM!!”  The cold smell is incredible and so inviting, you almost want to eat it.  I could smell every ingredient in the description with the exception of cinnamon.  I’m sure it was there but I personally couldn’t smell it. What I could detect the most were the brown sugar and walnuts notes with a hint of vanilla, just like the description says.  It was amazing and boy does this scent travel.  It’s not overpowering at all but was a perfect strength for me.  The scent is very rich and warm causing every member in my family to ask what I was baking.  Ha!  I love that and you know you have a winner when people start asking you that.

Definitely give this one a try if you love the warm smell of cake with brown sugar and walnuts.  Yummy-licious till the very end!!

Banana Spice Cake:

Banana Spice Cake... that just sounded too good to pass up when I was browsing their scent list.  I’m usually not a banana scented gal but decided to give this scent a try since it had “spice & cake” in the mix.  Who can resist that if you like bakery scents?  I couldn’t.  Before I go on, here is the scent description for Banana Spice Cake:

"Oh wow, this fragrance takes me back to my childhood.  I can remember days of walking into the house after school and finding my Mom baking treats for me.  (I have a SUPER Mom!)  One of the special treats she baked was Banana Bread with her secret spices added. I  can almost taste the bite of bread, fresh from the oven... crunching down on that warm crust with it’s toasted nuts, cinnamon  swirls and ripe banana bits.”

That’s a very nice description that sold me right away.  The cold smell of this scent was pretty good.  I could smell the banana loud and clear along with a hint of spice and cake, yum!  I popped two cubes in my electric warmer and it didn’t take long for the scent to drift through my family room.

This is a very nice and strong scent and smells just like it does cold.  It really does smell like spicy banana cake and is such a warm and inviting scent for sure.  My only wish and this is personal would have been to smell more nuts and maybe more cake.  If I could have smelled more cake, I would have been sold, hook line and sinker.  All in all though, it was a nice, very warm and spicy bakery scent.

Overall Opinion of My Candles and Texas Charm:

I gotta give Texas Charm props for offering such unique and uncommon fragrances.  This is a site you want to shop on if you’re after something different and not your typical Yankee or White Barn dupes because you won’t find any on this website.  If you love bakery scents, this company has a nice selection that are unique and wonderful.  I highly recommend their bakery line as well as their fruity scents. YUM!!  Delish!!  Wonderful!! 

Texas Charm also offers many pampering products such as lip balms, body lotions, perfumes & body sprays, soaps and much more for those who love to pamper their bodies as much as their noses.  Stacey, the owner is fast to answer emails and gives some top notch customer service.

In closing, this is a great company and I definitely recommend them.
