Christina Rylan, scented candle reviewsIntroduction to my Pacific Luxury Candle from Laurence Candles:

I'm in the luxury groove right now and I guarantee you it's not likely to last considering my beer wallet can't keep up with my champagne taste. Bummer! When I came across Laurence Candles, I thought they were lovely but most of all, I thought they were priced right and that's what sold me.

There's a whole market out there for luxury candles and it's interesting trying all Laurence Candlesthese decadent brands for Candlefind. What makes them so special that they can demand such prices? I want to know! The problem is, breaking out my credit card and spending my hard earned cash on luxury candles is not the easiest thing to do. I love a good bargain as much as the next gal and even though I don't mind splurging on a luxury candle once in awhile... it's not easy spending a chunk of change on a few ounces of wax (my bargain shopper instincts rebel at that). I know a lot of you who are wax obsessed as I am can relate. On the other hand, there are tons of people who don't bat an eyelash spending money on luxury priced candles. And I say go for it if you can afford it!! I certainly would!

I've never tried a Laurence Candle until now and hadn't even heard of them until shopping on Scents & Sprays. This line is all soy and all natural in color which I know many of you who like your candles as natural as possible would appreciate. Price wise... 20 bucks is decent (great in fact) for a luxury brand... luxury candles can get pricey and can go up to 150 bucks a piece... but average price seems to be $35 to $50 dollars for the majority of brands. That's still a jaw dropper to me and even though I'm curious to see if these candles produce something magical for that price, I don't quite have the guts yet to spend that kind of cash... someday but not yet.

I bought this candle well over a year ago and just realized Scents & Sprays doesn't even carry this brand anymore. I'm not sure why but they are still available directly through the Laurence website. This brand carries 12 fragrances in their line... not much of a choice but not usual for a luxury brand. The scent I purchased and sounded the most pleasing to me was Pacific... a citrusy scent.

Laurence candlesWhat does Pacific Candle from Laurence Look Like?

My candle was classic in style. The glass was thick much like a cocktail glass with a thick band of orange around the entire candle. The wax an all natural white with one wick. The candle came in a decorative and simple box with the Laurence logo on it.

How did my Pacific Candle from Laurence Smell?

Laurence Pacific Candle ReviewScent description for Pacific:

"Pacific is sweetened grapefruit with hints of azonic orange hues."

I've never been able to resist a citrus scent and with summer in full swing... I was looking forward to burning this candle. Grapefruit is so fresh and uplifting and it's a favorite scent in my house during spring and summer. After lighting it though... I had some heavy doubts about the candle itself and this brand.

I lit this candle in my master bath (a very large room) and waited to see how it Orangesfaired. After about 15 minutes, I noticed some serious tunneling... yikes considering this is a luxury candle... I was not happy! I left it alone and would say roughly an hour later, came back to a complete melt pool and a wonderful light and refreshing scent of grapefruit. Wow! Talk about a happy surprise and relief... this candle righted itself and I didn't have to do any serious candle maintenance like I thought I would have to. That definitely made me happy.

The scent itself is soooo nice and summery! Grapefruit dominates this scent but you can smell a hint of orange in the mix. A true and wonderful citrus scent that smelled very authentic. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 for scent strength, I would give this candle a 5, possibly a 6 but that's max. This would not be a candle you would burn in a large room but rather a bathroom or small bedroom.

Candle flameHow did my Pacific Candle from Laurence burn?

As I pointed out in my scent description, this candle started out lousy but about an hour into the candle, the candle did reach a complete melt pool and burned perfect after that. No soot, no smoke and no wasted wax.

Overall opinion of my Pacific Candle from Laurence Candles:

I liked this candle but not sure if I liked it enough to purchase it again. I did Scented candle reviews, laurence candles, luxury candlesenjoy the scent and I burned this candle from beginning to end but it didn't really "wow" me. When it comes to luxury brands, I have pretty high expectations.

Happy candle shopping!
