| Gaila's Thoughts on Her Kiwi-Strawbery Candle from Old Virginia Candle:
"Old Virginia Candle Company makes many of my favorite candles. There is no doubt that this is a high quality candle. It burned well, leaving little residue in the jar. The thick wick is woven so that the candle is never in danger of burning itself out. I've been burned (pun intended) before by several brands of candles that self extinguish in a pool of wax.
While I can't say enough good things about Old Virginia Candles in general, this one was a disappointment to me. I did not really like this fragrance. It seemed artificial to me. More like Kool-Aid or candy than real fruit. I'm going to give it away rather than finish it myself.
Just because I didn't like it doesnt mean that many of you other candle lovers won't. But I'd advise buying this one in person so that you can test the fragrance for yourself. As a working mother of small children I often mail order my candles. That's I how I got this candle. The drawback to that is that you don't get to preview the smells. I would have never bought this candle in a store.
I still shop online, I find I can often get better selections, and deals by ordering online rather than in a specialty shop. For instance Old Virginia sometimes runs shipping sales so that if you order more than $30 you get free shipping. If you buy a few jar candles viola free shipping."
