I actually discovered Carman's Candles in a bargain cosmetics store that was selling some of their oversized votives. I tried their Heather and Hyacinth scent, Cucumber Apple, and Candy Apple. First of all, as soon as I opened the jar that contained the Cucumber Apple votives, the smell immediately filled the room. This is definitely their strongest scented candle. This scent is like a granny smith sour apple scent but with a STRONG scent. When I burned a couple of these votives in my living room, the scent filled the room and the connecting hallway in about 30 minutes. I truly love this scent over all of them. The Heather and Hyacinth candle was also a strong scented candle. The Candy Apple scent, though not NEARLY as strong as the Cucumber Apple, was also a very nice scent with a nice scent throw. This smell reminded me of the candy apples I used to eat at the fair as a kid.
After buying these candles and trying them, I decided to look on the web to see if there was anyplace where I could order more of them and get more of their selection. After several tries, I finally found the website for Main Street Candle Company. This site sells Carman's as well as other brands. The selection that they offer includes not only multiple scents of the oversized votives, but also 10 oz. tumblers, 8 oz. and 16 oz. tins and 24 oz. jars. They recently introduced the Caribbean Collection of island-inspired scents and a Mountain High Collection of more earthly scents.
After finding this site I sampled more scents and I was very impressed with their Coral Berry scent from the Caribbean Collection that smells like a refreshing blend of various berries. I was also very fond of their Raspberry Amaretto scent.
The candles do burn leaving some residue behind, but mine did not smoke. The only other thing is that they are a little pricey, but if you have the means, you should consider giving at least the oversized votives a try. For the oversized votives, you will need to place them in those flower pot votive holders that you can either get from Main Street Candle Co. or from places like K-Mart.

I purchase the Carmans Candle votives all the time, and have for years. They are shaped like a flower pot, and burn a VERY long time. There is no waste at all with these.
I like the Wedding Cake, Cinnamon Stix, Vanilla Bean and mostly all the Baking and Spicy scents.
The only downfall for me is I can not find them in my area. I purcahse them online at The Carpenters Hands and Andys Wood.
I have burned their Jars, but prefer their flower pot shaped votive candles. They are wonderful
