Since Gold Canyon is a company that sells through independent demonstators, we'd rather not link to one specific consultant's site. To find their candles online, just search "Gold Canyon Candles" on Google.com

Black jars and the soot it puts in the air
|
|
I use to love these candles but the amount of soot they put in the air I think is unhealthy. The jars become very ugly after you burn them awhile because of the black soot. They say to keep the wick trimmed to eliminate most of the soot but that didn't work either and I don't have them set in a drafty area, so i quit burning these candles.

if you don't trim the wicks, they get sooty

I was introduced to Gold Canyon candles a few years ago. I wasn't that big into candles beforehand because I'm very picky when it comes to scents. I found that gold canyon had great variety when it came to scents. I don't like food scents and if the scent smells really flowery, I tend to get headaches. I was suprised at how good the gold canyon candles smelled. My favorites are Fields of Grass (smells like a freshly mowed yard), Fizzy Pop(smells like a lemon lime soda), and Clean sheets. This is definitely a great company to order from if you like a variety of scents. They offer some interesting choices. I order my candles from a representitive and she couldn't be nicer and the shipping is very fast.

I have been extremely pleased with my first order from Gold Canyon. I have not had a problem with soot. They are very strong and burn very cleanly!
3/18/07 I have bought a lot of candles and these are still clearly some of the best. I now buy them from ebay.

I have loved every Gold Canyon candle I have burned. There is some soot that forms on the jars, but that doesn't bother me. I love the strong throw and the clean burn.

My neighbor sells these and I got several different scented jars from her which smell really good cold but, when I burn them, they put out a lot of soot and aren't as strong as I heard they were suppose to be. In fact 3 out of 4, the scent throw was very faint. I am always trying new candle companies and for them to be around so long and be so popular, I really expected more.

I absolutely LOVE the Ginger Lime candle, as does my husband. Gold Canyon has TONS of scents to choose from and their products throw the scent more than any other candle I have tried. I loved GC products SO much, I signed on to be a demonstrator.
I've read a couple of posts about the soot. I have to say that you must trim the wicks, and it's better to extinguish the flame with the wick dipper rather than to blow it out. GC does use cotton safety wicks and takes great pride in it's products, but like all products, there are mistakes at times. SO, if you do end up with a candle that doesn't smell or a problem with a wick, send it back! They have a guarantee and I've never had the first problem exchanging any item!
I'm just sorry I didn't find GC sooner! I feel like I have wasted my money on any other candle!
