Scentimints is a store in Stoughton, Wisconsin that offers candles, lotions, and soaps. Their candles are all soy, a special soy mix with a very low melting point, so the candles liquidfy very nicely. They offer over 300 scents, and are willing to try custom mixes upon request. The candles are poured right there in the store.
I've sniffed probably close to 100 of their scents and most are very close to what one would expect, given the name. They rigorously test each scent & mix, for example they offer a Mimosa & Tangerine scent that has so much scent in it, that they had to go to a double wick, which isn't needed in any other scent due to the low melting point of the wax, but the amount of scent in this one impedes the melt a bit, so they went to two wicks.
I've tried Orange Ginger, Lemongrass Sage, Citrus Teakwood, Log Cabin, and Citrus Basil. All five had strong scent throws, burned cleanly, melted evenly, and had long burn times.
Why didn't I rate them a "10?" Well, because while I liked all of the scents, along with many others in the store, I wasn't completely "wowed" by all of them. A couple had undertones of a clean/lotion/soap scent, sort of like a touch of the classic "Clean Linen" scent. I know a lot of people like this, but I'm not a fan. They still gave a nice scent, but only a 7 or 8 in my book. I would rate Citrus Teakwood and Citrus Basil as 10's. And if one likes Vanilla, she offers several interesting mixes with vanilla as the primary or secondary scent.
Candle colors are not as vivid or intense as I've seen from others. This isn't a big deal to me. The pictures on her web page seem to be pretty accurate reproductions of how they look. The votives have more intense colors because they contain paraffin and hold color better.
The sales people are very friendly, it is a fun place to shop. They also offer jar refills, sans the price of a new jar, at nice prices.
Overall a very solid 9+ and I will continue as a repeat customer.
