I'm really surprised there are no reviews posted here for Wal-Mart candles, as they must sell millions of them each year.
I was enticed into trying a few because they looked nice, smelled nice in the store, and were very aggressively priced. While it is very hard to find a low priced candle that performs well, I thought that if anyone could pull this off, that Wal-Mart could. We all know that the materials cost in a typical candle is not that high, and with Wal-Mart making millions of them with low overhead, perhaps they could sell a good candle at 25 cents on the dollar.
I brought home a pillar and votive of Mulled Cider, a small jar of Pumpkin Pie, and a Blueberry.
Sadly, once again the lower cost, mass produced candle turns out to be a bust. While the scents were nice when cold, they had very little throw. The Mulled Cider and Pumpkin Pie candles were a lighter color on the inside, as if they had been coated with a darker, stronger scent but the bulk of the candle had only a touch of scent.
My samples were out of two different lines of candles, they had others. So perhaps they have a higher end line which perform better. But from what I tried, these candles are good for decorative purposes only. A visitor might like the scent if they pick it up and smell it. But you'll get nowhere in terms of filling a room with a nice scent.

I am in agreement with the others on these candles. I tried a couple (vanilla and apple pie) and they were absolutely weak. Sorry, I would have to say, I will not be buying these again. You get what you pay for, is all I can say
I have also found other candles to burn evenly, have an excellent scent throw and are more expensive, but worth the price.

Well, I have to admit I bought a couple of their candles in the mason jars. They actually smelled really good in the jar. I burned two, the lemon pound cake and key lime pie. The Key lime actually had a decent throw, but tunneled when I burned it. The lemon smelled just like pledge! Yuck!!!
I can't say I would recommend these candles, either, as other reviewers have mentioned, but I can say that the key lime smelled really good. Just burned terrible.
I would go elsewhere, I reckon!

These candles are really only good for emergencies, like major weather events! They really don't do much for scent or for light, as they tend to drown in their own wax and produce soot. I haven't had to purchase these since the hurricanes we experienced two years ago and hope I don't need them this year, either!
