Pros: soy, 8oz travel tin is double wicked, authentic fragrance
Cons: none

With a name like Crooked Mile Candle Company, and located in Virginia (so I'm supporting local candle makers), I couldn't resist:). They also have a little dog on their website that runs in a circle chasing its tail...too cute and quirky:).

I purchased an 8oz. candle tin. It is silver and round, like most candle tins, and has a simple label on the lid with the name of the company, a small picture of the sun in the sky, and the name of the fragrance that's in the tin. What I love about my candle tin is that it's double wicked, so I haven't had any problems with the wax melting to the edges of the tin.

The scent I purchased was Cranapple Chutney. It isn't in the fragrance list, but when I clicked on the drop down box for an 8oz. tin, I noticed the scent and emailed the owners to see if it was still available. It was, and so I emailed them again so they could send me a scent description. Cranapple Chutney is described as a "juicy blend of Macintosh apples and ripe cranberries makes a wonderfully fresh, clean and tart scent." I would have to agree. I can smell the mix of apples and cranberries and I think the tartness of the cranberry scent is balanced by the sweetness of the apple. I burned this candle in my office and it had a good throw, scenting my entire office. I have never heard of "chutney," so I googled it and what I gathered is that it means mashed together. So I don't think chutney is an added fragrance, but just means the apples and cranberries are supposed to smell mixed, which they do.

My 8oz tin burned with no black soot and evenly down my tin with no wax remaining on the sides. Because it is soy, I believe it burned at a nice, slow pace.

Crooked Mile doesn't have a wide variety of scents to choose from, but they have some fragrances that sound very unique, along with some scents that are more classic.

The company has some great deals going on right now like three 8oz candle jars for $21, three 8oz travel tins for $22, three 4oz travel tins for $5, and five votives for $6.

Crooked Mile's customer service is great. All the emails I sent were replied to quickly and courteously. I'd love to read some reviews from other people as they try this company. Happy Candle Hunting from Jen the Candle Hunter:)

PS: I forgot to mention that Crooked Mile also sent me a free Snickerdoodle tealight with my order. The tealight smells scrumdidlyumptious cold, and after burning this little tealight in my bathroom, I gotta tell ya, some of you have to try this scent. I loved it. I closed the door to my bathroom, and a delicious smell greeted me everytime I opened the bathroom door. Is it twisted to want to go to the bathroom in order to inhale the scent of cookies?:-)
