Pros: Great selections - nationwide locations
Cons: Overpriced in my opionion

I love Bath & Body Works... I probably won't ever stop shopping there but it will probably be for lotions & soaps rather than candles. First of all, the new line of candles they have now are way too expensive, $26.00 for a tiny candle is ridiculous in my opinion and although they're fragrant, they aren't that much better than other brands that sell bigger candles for a fraction of the cost.

I decided to purchase some Aromatherapy tea lights in Blue Lavender Palmarosa & Orange Ginger along with their fragrance oils to burn in a tart burner. Although they smell lovely when I put my nose up to the tealights, once lit, I couldn't smell them at all... even when I lit 4 or more at a time and stood right next to them. I haven't tried White Barn Candles yet but as far as their aromatherapy line goes, I was not impressed at all.

I love Bath & Body Works and I'm always open to trying more candles if I catch a sale. I still want to try White Barn Candles and should I someday catch a sale on their Henri Bendel candles... I'll try those too.

Pros: Pretty packaging, smells nice in jar
Cons: Doesn't burn well, low scent throw

While on a lavender kick, I received a gift basket with an 8 oz (I believe) jar candle that looked and smelled pretty; however, it tunnelled horribly once lit and the scent throw was minimal. This is actually what got me started on tarts/melts, because I gave up on burning the candle but used the wax in a warmer and was thrilled with the results! I wouldn't purchase these myself, as there are many other better products out there.

Pros: Improved quality, very attractive packaging, great sales to save money
Cons: Inconsistent from store to store, some have the product some don't

This review is NOT for the Bath and Body works "real essence" or aromatherapy lines because I think those two are not that great and very weak. This review is for the "Perfect" lines - Perfect Christmas and Perfect Autumn. With a recent email promotion I bought a couple of candles, The Perfect Autumn candle in Perfect Pear, 10 oz., and the Perfect Christmas candle in Spice, 9.5 oz. Both candles look gorgeous with a deep red glass container and pretty label. They burn clean and completely and the throw is VERY good. They smell divine. Pear is sweet with a hint of ginger and the Spice is just plain wonderfully spicy, lots of cinnamon. They come boxed beautifully so you could give these as gifts and you wouldn't even need to wrap them (the Christmas ones even come with jingle bells attached to the tops of the pretty boxes).

White Barn makes these candles, and I suppose I could have/should have put this review under White Barn, but a lot of people I know tend to relate these candles to Bath and Body Works the store and not even realize they are White Barn candles. It's no wonder these are great because I happen to love the White Barn New York candles at Bath and Body Works, that quality is seen in the "Perfect" candles as well. Watch the Autumn candles because I bet they will go on sale soon considering Fall will be over before you know it! Smile
