I found this company here on Candlefind and when I checked out there website -- they were having their "summer clearance" sale. Unable to turn down $5 16 oz soy candles - I thought I would give them a shot and add a review. I order 6/16/06 and recieved it 6/21/05. The candles were boxed inside of another outer box -- packed with peanuts and bubble wrap (which surprises me that one candle was broken) -- guess fex-ed wasn't so gentle. Cold scents are authentic to what they should be (if you put your nose in the jar for some of the lighter ones) -- the candle and colors are are even distributed and pretty vibrant for soy. It looks like they have cotton self trimming double wicks. I also ordered one pack of 4 soy tarts -- they are wrapped in a cello bag with a clear identifying label. The candles give off a well made, "manufactured" appearance, uniform shapes, packaging. I emailed OM Candle Company and received a response almost immediately -- they apoligized for the broken candle, and since they are sold out of the stock Ginger Musk -- they were pouring me a new one -- right now -- and it should be shipped tomorrow (she explained about the curing time involved and that the full scent will not be deleloped for a few days after I receive it). How's that for quick!! My replacement candle was mail super fast and the customer service was very very quick to respond and friendly.
Here is what I ordered -- 16 oz. jar SOY JAR
~~Strawberries & Cream $4.95 -- soft creamy strawberry, moderate throw.
Honeysuckle $4.95
Southern Breeze $5.50
Walnut & Brown Sugar $4.95
Dandelion Pear $4.95
Coastline $6.00
~~~Blooming Lilac~~~ $8.00 -- fresh moderate floral throw
~~~Ginger Musk~~~ $6.00 (arrived w/ bottom broken -- emailed company)-- a nice moderate throw -- a warm exotic type scent (my husband and kids like this one)
~~~Apricot Peach & Pear~~~ Soy Tarts 4 for $1 -- I'm not real crazy about this scent (I don's smell the "fruit" -- but the tarts are nice since they "pop" out when cool (unlike most soy you have to dig and scrape out)
Burning info -- The cold scent and hot scent are not the same -- stronger hot, candles seem to burn real well, liquify evenly, they do have the self trimming wicks that turn gently under (not a mushroom grower), intially they seemed to be burn faster than some of my other favorite brands (Pure Scents, Celestial Soy Candles and Pure Integrity), but strangely enought -- slower as they burned down. Anyway, for the sale and shipping price, overall quality great customer service... I would give this company an A+!!
UPDATE: Recieved my replacement candle along with a free "car candle" -- specially wrapped large flower shaped tart to be place in your car interesting idea.
I, too, found this company while browsing new additions to Candlefind's Board and could not pass up the sale: four soy tarts for $1.00! So, just a few days later my order arrived, after being fully updated every step of the way, in perfect condition with lots of tarts in the scents of Bamboo Teak, Apricot Peach and Pear, Coastline, Ginger Musk, Enchanting Pear, Southern Breeze and Walnut & Brown Sugar. These tarts are nicely made and smell great so I am very happy with this find!
So far, I have only burned one scent that I purchased and that is Summer Breeze. It is a very clean, nice scent but not a great throw. I have it in my living room and can barely smell it. I have to walk by to be able to tell it is burning. I will update later as I burn other scents.
I received my candles only 4 days after I placed the order. I ordered the 7 oz Amor, 16 oz Enchanting Pear, 10 oz Southern Breeze and 16 oz Blooming Lilac....LOVE THEM ALL!!
They arrived nicely packaged. The jar packaging is exquisite with simple logo, clean lines and vibrant colored wax.
I started burning the Enchanting Pear first. The burn quality is exellent, the hot scent throw is definitely stronger than the cold throw. The scent is very hard to describe. However, it is even more difficult to stay away from it, the scent draws me in and I am happy:).
The Blooming Lilac is a beautiful and authentic floral scent.
I like the southern Breeze and a nice fresh moderate scent, not overpowering.
The amor is very soft and sensuous, this is my husbands fav.
I would definitely recommend this company for their quality and service.
