Cons: burnt really badly- wick got lost

its a real shame that the candle i bought wasn't to my liking. it was quite expensive, but i love luxury and i was treating myself. sadly i found it burnt badly, the wick got lost and i wasn't impressed.

Pros: Scent Throw, Burn, Amazing Scent
Cons: Limited Edition Scent

In December 2006, I purchased a Slatkin & Co. candle at Bath & Body Works. Elton John "Fireside" scent, where a portion of the proceeds are to benefit The Elton John Aids Foundation. 10 ounce candle, in an attractive gold/frosted pattern tumbler for the holidays, creamy white wax. Absolutely TOTALLY AWESOME scent! I am not a fan of vanilla at all, but in this candle it was the absolute perfect accompaniment to what I believe is cedarwood and/or sandalwood definitely, maybe a hint of orange and pine or balsam. Smells like a winter "fireside" befitting its name. Beautiful burn, full melt pool and good scent throw. One candle pleasantly scented my entire living/dining area (about 30x20). I havent measured burn time, but has to be upwards of 40-50 hours.

I was impressed. So I went back and bought 2 more of the Fireside tumbler candles (last 2 in the store) and 2 vials of the matching home fragrance oil in the Fireside scent.

Full price is on the moderate side for this size candle, $16.50. By no means expensive. Similar size of the Bendel candles were pushing $30 at Bath & Body Works. (I am not a fan of Bendel.) I waited until 50% off, so only paid $8.25 for each candle and $3.75 (regular $7.50) for each fragrance oil.

Bummer that this may only be a one time holiday scent!

I will consider trying other Slatkin candles if they produce another scent I like or if they bring this scent back next season.

All thumbs up.
