Pros: Fragrant, beautiful and unique
Cons: Expensive

While the $50 I paid for a 175 gram (approx. 6.2 ounces - the large size which burns for 50-60 hours) candle seemed pricey at the time, I have NEVER experienced such a beautiful candle. The fragrance (L'Ambre)was amazing...long lasting (even hours after I blew the wick out)and subtle. It left a wonderfully light, warm and cozy scent in my tiny NYC apartment...completely masking the wet dog odor and cigarette smoke without being overly potent. I may have to cut down on my grocery expenses, but this is a candle that I will buy over and over again.

Pros: Exquisite fragrances, excellent quality, very long burn
Cons: Outrageously expensive

I'm brand new to CandleFind, so I hope I don't this screw up! I'm compelled to post a review of 3 votive-sized (35 g) candles from L'Artisan Parfumeur that a friend gave me several years ago. The scents were The et Pain d'Epices, Mure Sauvage, and Interieur Figuier. I finished burning them long ago, but the memory remains. The scent The et Pain d'Epices was my favorite, a warm and spicy but somehow fresh tea scent. Mure Sauvage was a rich yet clean berry scent. Interieur Figuier was a dewy, intense, very "green" vegetation scent. Each candle was poured in a beautiful little clear glass with L'Artisan's logo printed on gold on the glass.

At the time, these candles were $16.00 each. I was almost angry that my friend spent that kind of money on candles...until I burned them. One of these tiny candles easily scented my living room/dining room area. The scents were rich and strong but clean. I was not expecting such clear, unmuddied scents from a perfumer. The candles burned absolutely cleanly, and each one burned for at least 20 hours with careful wick trimming. I have not repurchased because they are so expensive, but they really made an impression.

(A word of warning, though: I might be easily impressed. I'm not familiar with most of the luxury candles brands I've been reading about here on CandleFind. Mostly I've burned Beanpod, Tyler, and Yankee candles, which I certainly enjoy. But if money were no object, I'd stock up on L'Artisan!)
