The candles and melts here are paraffin wax. The packaging is nicely done (but the individuals bags do have a smoky smell on the outside).
I found some of these tarts to be really, really good. And then some not so good.
Here's what I've melted so far (all on tealight burners unless specified):
Winter Garden: Absolutely wonderful! Great scent throw, but still a lighter scent. Enough for you to detect it in other rooms, but not overpowering. This is hard to describe - just a really pretty floral. I would go back just to purchase this one.
Lotus Blossom - also very nice. Not as nice as Winter Garden, but a light, lovely floral. It also had a good scent throw.
Cranberry Relish: This did not have a very good scent throw. It was kind of tart, but I could not smell it unless I put my nose near the wax.
Black Cherries: Very strong and true. This one had a good scent throw. It lasted several hours.
Grandma's Kitchen/Black Raspberry Vanilla Duo: This has one scent on top with another on the bottom. I liked the cold smell, but it did not impress when melted (25W burner). I smelled lots of cinnamon, but not much else.
This is what I have left of my order and opinions on cold smell:
Black Cherry Vanilla: lots of black cherry, hint of vanilla
Cinnamon Buns: light on the cinnamon
French Vanilla: sweet vanilla smell
Peaches & Cream: definitely smell the peaches
Pink Sugar: light cold throw
Vanilla Fudge: nice fudge smell, decent cold throw
Wild Cherry: strong cherry smell
Bubblegum: lightly scented
Creme Brulee - French Vanilla: nice cold smell. Mostly I smell the creme brulee
Pink Sugar/Jasmine - I smell the pink sugar with faint hint of jasmine
Gingerbread/Wildberry Scone - no cold scent throw
Buttermilk Pancakes - no cold scent throw.
Downy Morning Glory/Honeysuckle: nice clean scent. I don't detect the honeysuckle
Irish Cream: No scent throw
Coconut Cream: No scent throw
Freebies in my order included:
1 oz sugar scrub in Coconut Cream
Angel Food tart: no cold throw
All in all, I think this is a worthwhile company to try if there is a special running. They offer some scents that are really good, and I would definitely try Winter Garden and Lotus Blossom. Do not expect much from the duos, however. One scent seems to dominate the other.
I will purchase again during another sale, so I can stock up on my two favorite scents from here. She may have a couple of other winners, and I will update my review when I finish my current order.
