I am really-really disappointed with my candles from this company. First, I want to say that the owners were wonderful and very helpful. All my questions were answered promptly and I really appreciated that. I feel really bad about writing this negative review.
I bought a lot of candles, which was obviously my first mistake… very stupid but oh well. I normally always overindulge my candle habit and luckily, this has been my first disappointment with candles I’ve purchased blindly online.
The candle appearance themselves were not the problem, fragrance and performance was. I purchased Cucumber Melon, Lemon, Summer Citrus, Papaya, Lemon Pound Cake, & Mulberry.
Cucumber Melon was so bad, I actually threw it away after giving it an entire day of burning. It smelled horrible, like old stale wax… I couldn’t even stand it after a few hours. Lemon, Mulberry & Papaya smell great when you put your nose up to them but once lit, I could barely smell the fragrance. If you put your nose up to the candle, you can smell it but you’d end up burning your nose, you have to get that close.
I’ve given these candles a chance for days, burning each fragrance all day and night. I started burning them in my guest bathroom and the fragrance doesn’t even fill up that small size so I’ve moved them to my powder room which is super small. They are fine there but for a 16oz jar… that’s sad. Also, these candles are tunneling pretty badly no matter what I do or how long I burn them. I’ve spent more time trying to push the wax into the wax pool to salvage what I can of my candle than I’ve cared to. I still have 2 more fragrances to try that I haven’t burned yet so I have high hopes for those.
Maybe my order was a fluke and I received a bad batch… I don’t know. All I know is I spent a pretty penny on a case-full of candles I can’t even smell.

I had a better experience with a JLJ candle than Christina (Candlenut) did above. I tried their Mango Papaya scent in one of their medium sized frosted jar candles. It was really strong for me! I don't know what the difference was between my candle and Christina's candles, but I just wanted to let you all know that I definitely could smell mine. It has a nice scent too...smelled very "islandy" and not really fake. I am very picky when it comes to the authenticity of candle scents...I think this candle could have been maybe just a tiny bit more authentic, but keep in mind my extreme pickiness. Overall, my Mango Papaya candle has a nice, mostly accurate, strong scent.
